Functions

(1) To ensure the efficient and interference-free use of frequencies, and having regard to the regulatory objectives of section 2 and the objectives of frequency regulation under section 87, the respective competent authorities 1. allocate frequency ranges in the Frequency Ordinance under section 89 and divide them into uses of frequencies in the Frequency Plan; 2. assign frequencies; and 3. monitor uses of frequencies.
(2) The Federal Network Agency issues orders concerning uses of frequencies in the operation of radio equipment on foreign land, water, and air vehicles present within the territorial scope of this Act.
(3) For uses of frequencies falling within the area of responsibility of the Federal Ministry of Defence, the Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and State Modernisation establishes agreement with the Federal Ministry of Defence.
