(1) Information on broadband deployment is based on a geographic survey of the local availability of public telecommunications networks, to be carried out by the Central Information Office of the Federation, which it conducts at regular intervals, but at least once a year.
(2) Information on broadband deployment comprises an area- and household-based overview of the local availability of public telecommunications networks, and information on areas in which the deployment of public telecommunications networks is publicly funded, insofar as this information is available to the Central Information Office of the Federation. The overview must contain sufficient detail on local conditions and adequate information on service quality and its parameters.
(3) The Central Information Office of the Federation must ensure that information on broadband deployment is treated confidentially, subject to safeguarding business and trade secrets.
(4) The Central Information Office of the Federation provides end users with an information tool enabling them to determine the availability of network connections in different areas with a level of detail suitable to help them choose an operator or service provider. The first sentence does not apply where an information tool satisfying the requirements of the first sentence is available on the market.
