(1) Death benefit funds are life insurance undertakings that, under their scheme of operations, insure only death risks domestically, insofar as the amount of their benefits does not exceed the average value of funeral costs on a death, or these benefits are provided in kind.
(2) Death benefit funds may not conduct the business named in section 1(2).
