(1) The statutes may determine that a member may participate with more than one share. The statutes may fix a maximum number and impose further conditions.
(2) The statutes may also determine that the members are to participate with several shares (mandatory participation). The mandatory participation must be the same for all members, or must be governed by the extent to which members make use of facilities or other benefits of the cooperative, or by particular economic characteristics of the members' operations.
(3) The statutes may permit contributions in kind as payments on the share.
