(1) On the death of a member, membership passes to the heir. It ends at the close of the business year in which the death occurred. Several heirs may exercise the voting right at the general meeting only through a joint representative.
(2) The statutes may determine that, in the event of the death of a member, its membership in the cooperative is continued by its heirs. The statutes may make the continuation of membership dependent on personal conditions of the successor in title. For the case of succession by several heirs, it may also be determined that membership ends where it has not, within a period fixed in the statutes, been left to a single co-heir alone.
(3) The death of the member, and the point in time of the termination of membership, and, in the case of subsection (2), also the continuation of membership by one or more heirs, are to be entered in the list of members without delay. The heirs of the deceased member are to be notified of the entry without delay.
(4) On termination of the membership of the heir, sections 73 and 75 apply; in the case of continuation of membership, section 76(4) applies correspondingly.
