Where, under the law of social insurance, including unemployment insurance, or the law of social compensation, 1. the income or assets of relatives of the benefit recipient or of other persons must be taken into account for a social benefit or its reimbursement; or 2. the social benefit or its reimbursement depends on the amount of a maintenance claim to which the benefit recipient is entitled against a person liable to pay maintenance, section 60(1), nos. 1 and 3 and section 65(1) of the First Book apply correspondingly to these persons. The same applies, for the scope of application named in the first sentence, in cases in which persons liable to pay maintenance, relatives, the former spouse, the former civil partner, or heirs are called on to reimburse the expenses of the provider of benefits. Information on questions whose answer would expose a person obliged to give information under the first or second sentence, or a person close to that person (section 383(1), nos. 1 to 3 of the Code of Civil Procedure), to the danger of being prosecuted for a criminal offence or a regulatory offence, may be refused.
