(1) The competent authority communicates to the authorities of other Member States of the European Union and to the Commission particulars concerning facts and persons, insofar as this is required under legal acts of the European Community. The information networks established for this purpose should be used.
(2) Where an authority transmits particulars under subsection (1) to the authority of another Member State of the European Union, it informs the person concerned of the fact of the transmission, insofar as legal acts of the European Community so provide; in doing so, the nature of the particulars and the purpose and legal basis of the transmission must be indicated.
