Purposes of the valuation

The valuation serves the resolution authority as the basis for assessment for the following purposes: 1. determining whether the resolution conditions, or the conditions for applying the instrument for the participation of holders of relevant capital instruments, are satisfied for the institution or group entity; 2. where the resolution conditions are satisfied, deciding on the appropriate resolution actions to be taken in respect of the institution or group entity; 3. where the instrument for the participation of holders of relevant capital instruments is exercised under section 89, taking an informed decision on the extent of the cancellation, deletion, or transfer of shares or other Common Equity Tier 1 instruments of the institution or group entity, and on the extent of the write-down and conversion of the relevant capital instruments and eligible liabilities under section 65(4); 4. where the creditor participation instrument is applied under section 90, deciding on the extent of the write-down or conversion of bail-inable liabilities; 5. where the bridge institution tool or the tool of transfer to an asset management vehicle is applied, determining the assets, rights, liabilities, or shares or other instruments of ownership to be transferred, and assessing the consideration to be paid to the institution or group entity under resolution, or, where applicable, to the holders of the shares or other instruments of ownership; 6. where the business sale tool is applied, determining the assets, rights, liabilities, or shares or other ownership rights to be transferred; 7. where the business sale tool, the bridge institution tool, or the tool of transfer to an asset management vehicle is applied, carrying out the arm's-length comparison under section 112; 8. in all cases, ensuring that all losses in respect of the assets of the institution or group entity are fully recognised at the time the resolution tools are applied.
