Resolution objectives

(1) The resolution objectives are 1. to ensure the continuity of critical functions; 2. to avoid significant adverse effects on financial stability, in particular by preventing contagion, including to financial market infrastructures, and by maintaining market discipline; 3. to protect public funds by minimising reliance on extraordinary public financial support; 4. to protect depositors covered by the Deposit Guarantee Act and investors covered by the Investor Compensation Act; 5. to protect client funds and client assets.
(2) Subject to other provisions of this Act, the resolution objectives are of equal significance; it is for the resolution authority to strike an appropriate balance between them, having regard to the nature and circumstances of each case.
