Revocation by the policyholder

(1) In derogation from section 8 (1) sentence 1, the revocation period is 30 days. In derogation from section 8 subsection (4) sentence 2, the right of revocation ceases to apply at the latest 24 months and 30 days after conclusion of the contract. Section 8 subsection (5) sentence 4 does not apply.

(2) If the insurance cover begins prior to the end of the revocation period, and if the precondition in accordance with section 9 subsection (2) sentence 1 number 1 is met, the insurer is to refund to the policyholder, in derogation from section 9 subsection (1),

1.  the share of the premiums accounted for by the period after receipt of the revocation notice, and

2.  the surrender value, including surplus sharing in accordance with section 169.

(3) If the insurance cover begins prior to the end of the revocation period, and if the precondition in accordance with section 9 subsection (2) sentence 1 number 1 is not met, the insurer is to refund to the policyholder, in derogation from section 9 subsection (1),

1.  the share of the premiums accounted for by the period after receipt of the revocation notice, and

2.  the surrender value, including surplus sharing in accordance with section 169, or, if this is more favourable for the policyholder, the insurance premiums paid for the first year.

(4) Section 9 subsections (2) to (4) do not apply.

(5) In derogation from section 33 (1), the single or first premium is payable without undue delay 30 days after receipt of the insurance policy.
