(1) Children and young persons under 16 may be permitted to remain in restaurants only if accompanied by a person with the right of custody or a person entrusted with upbringing, or if, between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m., they are having a meal or a drink. Young persons aged 16 or over may not be permitted to remain in restaurants, without being accompanied by a person with the right of custody or a person entrusted with upbringing, between midnight and 5 a.m.
(2) Paragraph 1 does not apply where children or young persons are taking part in an event of a recognised provider of youth welfare assistance, or are travelling.
(3) Children and young persons may not be permitted to remain in restaurants run as a night bar or night club, and in comparable entertainment establishments.
(4) The competent authority may approve exceptions to paragraph 1.
