Section 11

Film screenings

(1) Children and young persons may be permitted to attend public film screenings only where the films have been approved for screening to them by the supreme Land authority or by an organisation of voluntary self-regulation within the framework of the procedure under section 14(6), or where they are informational, instructional or educational films labelled by the provider as "information programme" or "educational programme".
(2) By way of derogation from paragraph 1, attendance at public film screenings of films approved and labelled for children and young persons aged twelve or over may also be permitted to children aged six or over, where they are accompanied by a person with the right of custody or a person entrusted with upbringing.
(3) Without prejudice to the conditions of paragraph 1, attendance at public film screenings may be permitted only when accompanied by a person with the right of custody or a person entrusted with upbringing to
1. children under six,
2. children aged six or over, where the screening ends after 8 p.m.,
3. young persons under 16, where the screening ends after 10 p.m.,
4. young persons aged 16 or over, where the screening ends after midnight.
(4) Paragraphs 1 to 3 apply to the public screening of films regardless of the type of recording and reproduction. They also apply to promotional trailers and supporting programmes. They do not apply to films produced for non-commercial purposes, for as long as the films are not used commercially.
(5) Advertising films or advertising programmes for alcoholic beverages may, without prejudice to the conditions of paragraphs 1 to 4, be screened only after 6 p.m.
(6) Advertising films or advertising programmes for tobacco products, electronic cigarettes, or refill containers within the meaning of section 1(1) no. 1 of the Tobacco Products Act may be screened only in connection with films that
1. are labelled "No youth release" under section 14(2) by the supreme Land authority or by an organisation of voluntary self-regulation within the framework of the procedure under section 14(6), or
2. are not labelled under the provisions of this Act.
