Part 3 · Deposit Guarantee Schemes  ›  Division 2 · Obligation to Contribute; Covering the Need for Funds through Contributions and Payments › Section 26

Obligation to make annual contributions and one-off payments

(1) CRR credit institutions are obliged, until the target level of the statutory compensation scheme to which they are allocated is reached, to make contributions to that statutory compensation scheme annually at the end of a contribution year (annual contributions). The annual contributions serve to raise the available financial means under section 19(1), first sentence, and to cover the administrative costs and other costs incurred by the statutory compensation scheme in the course of its activity. The annual contributions are calculated in accordance with section 19(2) to (4), plus an appropriate flat-rate surcharge to cover administrative costs and other costs. The compensation scheme may levy minimum contributions. The contribution year covers the period from 1 October of a year to 30 September of the following year.
(2) CRR credit institutions allocated to a statutory compensation scheme after 1 August 1998 must, in addition to the annual contribution, make a one-off payment calculated in accordance with section 19(2) to (4).
