Examination and satisfaction of claims to compensation

(1) The deposit guarantee scheme must examine depositors' claims to compensation without delay and take suitable measures to compensate depositors within the period under subsection (3).
(2) The CRR credit institution must, on request, provide the deposit guarantee scheme without delay with the documents necessary for examining depositors' claims to compensation and for their compensation, and the information necessary for that purpose relating to deposits and depositors.
(3) The deposit guarantee scheme must satisfy depositors' claims to compensation, up to and including 31 May 2016 at the latest 20 working days, and from 1 June 2016 at the latest seven working days, after BaFin determines the compensation event, without an application to the deposit guarantee scheme being required. Amounts temporarily subject to a higher coverage level under section 8(2) are to be compensated within seven working days after receipt of the depositor's notification of those amounts under section 8(5).
