Purpose of the Act

The purpose of this Act is to determine the conditions for genetic examinations and for genetic analyses carried out within the framework of genetic examinations, and for the use of genetic samples and data, and to prevent discrimination on the basis of genetic characteristics, in particular in order to uphold the state's obligation to respect and protect human dignity and the right to informational self-determination.
