Section 29

Authorisation to issue statutory instruments

(1) The Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection is authorised to regulate, by statutory instrument not requiring the consent of the Bundesrat, 1. the organisation and conduct of business of the German Patent and Trade Mark Office, as well as the form of proceedings in utility model matters, insofar as this is not regulated by statute, 2. for time limits in utility model matters, a rule applicable to all departments of the German Patent and Trade Mark Office concerning the statutory holidays to be taken into account.
(2) The Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection may transfer the authorisation under paragraph 1, by statutory instrument not requiring the consent of the Bundesrat, in whole or in part, to the German Patent and Trade Mark Office.
