Payment Institution Register

(1) BaFin maintains, on its website, a Payment Institution Register, in which it enters: 1. every domestic payment institution to which it has granted a licence under section 10(1), together with the date of grant and the scope of the licence and, where applicable, the date of lapse or revocation of the licence; 2. every domestic account information service provider whose registration under section 34 it has confirmed, together with the date of entry in the Payment Institution Register and, where applicable, the date of deletion from the Payment Institution Register; 3. the branches established by domestic payment institutions, stating the state in which the branch is established, the scope, and the date on which business was taken up; 4. the agents active for a payment institution under section 25, and the dates of the beginning and end of the activity of each agent. Payment institutions that are registered only as account information service providers must be shown separately from other payment institutions. The Payment Institution Register must be kept continuously and promptly updated.
(2) Where facts exist suggesting that particulars on an agent transmitted to BaFin by an institution under section 25(1) are inaccurate, BaFin may refuse to enter the agent in the Payment Institution Register. BaFin informs the institution of this without delay.
(3) BaFin transmits to the European Banking Authority, without delay, the particulars entered in the Payment Institution Register under subsection (1), in a language customary in the financial sector. It informs the European Banking Authority of the reasons for the lapse or revocation of a licence granted under section 10(1) or section 11(1), or of a registration granted under section 34(1).
