Cooperation between the statistical offices

(1) The Federal Statistical Office and the statistical offices of the Länder may, insofar as they are responsible for producing federal statistics and for other statistical work within the framework of federal statistics, transfer the performance of individual pieces of work, or ancillary measures necessary for them, to other statistical offices by administrative agreement or on the basis of an administrative agreement. This does not extend to calling on persons to provide information or to enforcing the obligation to provide information.
(2) The statistical work under subsection (1) also includes making data available for science.
