Federal Statistical Office

(1) The Federal Statistical Office is an independent federal higher authority within the portfolio of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community.
(2) The President of the Federal Statistical Office is appointed by the Federal President on a proposal from the Federal Government.
(3) The Federal Statistical Office carries out its functions in accordance with the requirements of the federal ministries with subject-matter responsibility, within a programme of work coordinated with financial planning and the available budgetary resources, on the basis of the methods appropriate in each case.
