Part 2 · Data Protection and Protection of Privacy in Telecommunications  ›  Chapter 4 · End-User Directories, Provision of End-User Data › Section 17

End-user directories

(1) Holders of connections may, on their application, be entered with their number, name and address in printed or electronic end-user directories that are accessible to the public directly or through directory enquiry services. Before making their application, holders of connections must be informed of further possibilities of use resulting from search functions embedded in electronic versions of the directories. On application, additional particulars such as occupation and line of business may be entered. In doing so, applicants may determine which particulars are to be published in the directories. On the applicant's request, other users of the connection may be entered with their surname and first name, insofar as they consent. No charge may be levied for entries under the first sentence.
(2) The provider of a number-based interpersonal telecommunications service must inform holders of connections, when the contractual relationship is established, of the possibility of having their number, surname, first name and address included in end-user directories under paragraph 1, first sentence.
(3) The holder of a connection may at any time request their provider of the number-based interpersonal telecommunications service to have their number, surname, first name and address entered, stored, corrected or deleted, free of charge, in directory enquiry and directory media.
(4) Providers of directory enquiry and directory media are obligated to publish the data transmitted under section 18(1), and to remove inaccurate or deleted data from the directories and to make corrections.
