(1) Where the provider of a voice communications service offers, for calls, the presentation of the calling line identification of the calling end-users, calling and called end-users must have the possibility, in a simple manner and free of charge, to suppress the calling line identification permanently or on a per-call basis. Called end-users must have the possibility, in a simple manner and free of charge, to reject incoming calls in which the calling end-user has suppressed calling line identification. Where presentation of the number is offered to called end-users, called end-users must have the possibility, in a simple manner and free of charge, to suppress the presentation of their number to the calling end-user. Presentation of the numbers of calling end-users may not be excluded for the emergency call numbers 112 and 110, or the numbers 124 124 and 116 117.
(2) In calls made for advertising purposes, calling users may neither suppress the calling line identification nor cause the provider of the telecommunications service to suppress it; the calling user must ensure that the called party is transmitted the number allocated to the calling user.
(3) Where holders of connections apply for it, providers of voice communications services must make available a connection for which the transmission of the number is excluded free of charge. On application by the holder of the connection, such connections must be marked in the end-user directory (section 17). Where a connection has been marked under the second sentence, transmission of the number of the connection from which the call originates to the marked connection may take place only once the marking is no longer contained in the updated version of the end-user directory.
(4) Where the holder of the connection has not applied for entry in the end-user directory under section 17, presentation of their number at the called connection is omitted, unless the holder of the connection expressly wishes transmission of their number.
(5) Paragraphs 1 to 4 also apply to calls to a foreign country and to calls originating from a foreign country, insofar as they concern callers or called parties domestically.
