Provision of IT security products

The provision of IT security products by the BSI under section 3(1), second sentence, no. 15 takes place through in-house development or following the conduct of procurement procedures on the basis of a corresponding determination of need. IT security products may be provided through in-house development by the BSI only in justified exceptional cases. The provisions of procurement law and of the Federal Budget Code remain unaffected. Where the BSI provides IT security products, federal administration entities or third parties engaged by them may retrieve those products from the BSI.
